The Deputy Head of Mission of the Afghan Embassy in Islamabad was summoned to Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. A strong demarche was served following the deadly terrorist attack on #Bannu Cantonment on 15 July, which resulted in the martyrdom of eight security personnel.

The attack was carried out by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group based in Afghanistan. This group, along with Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (#TTP), has been responsible for multiple terrorist attacks inside Pakistan, causing hundreds of civilian and law enforcement casualties.

Pakistan urged the Interim Afghan Government to fully investigate the incident and take immediate, robust, and effective action against the perpetrators. The Afghan authorities were also asked to prevent the recurrence of such attacks from their territory.

Pakistan reiterated its concerns over the presence of terror outfits inside #Afghanistan that threaten its security. Such incidents undermine bilateral relations. Pakistan remains committed to combating #terrorism and calls for decisive action to ensure regional security.
