Minister Muhammad Musadik Malik, while expressing his optimism in a statement said that Azerbaijan had a plan of investing anywhere between $2 billion to $3 billion in Pakistan.
The minister pointed out that mineral sector especially oil and gas was of particular interest to the Azerbaijan government, reported state news agency APP. He further said that Azerbaijan was interested in the oil and gas sector more particularly in the exploring business and expressed their desire to further increase their investment on LNG.
Malik continues to elaborate that friendly nations are welcome for economic cooperation, especially prime minister is interested in miscellaneous business relations with the friendly countries mostly in investment not aid.
He added that the recent visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Pakistan was very much expected to focus on the trade aspect. Further, discussions are to cover the issue of export of textiles, and the development of the Information Technology sector in both the nation, he added.
The minister opined that these will go a long way to boost the economic cooperation between the two countries.
