Today is the 8th Death Anniversary of Abdul Sattar Edhi.

Abdul Sattar Edhi was a renowned philanthropist and humanitarian who dedicated his life to serving the underprivileged. 

What has he contributed?

1. In 1951, he founded the Edhi Foundation, one of the largest volunteer-based social welfare organizations in the world. The foundation provides a wide range of services, including emergency medical care, rescue operations, rehabilitation centers, orphanages, and burial services for the poor.

2. Edhi established an extensive network of ambulances across Pakistan, which became a crucial lifeline for those in need of emergency medical assistance. At its peak, the Edhi Ambulance Service had over 1,800 vehicles operating in the country.

3. Eidhi set up a network of shelter homes and orphanages to provide food, clothing, and shelter to the homeless, destitute, and abandoned. These facilities catered to the needs of the elderly, children, and individuals with disabilities.

4. During natural disasters and humanitarian crises, the Edhi Foundation was at the forefront of relief and rescue efforts, providing aid and support to affected communities across Pakistan and even internationally.
