JUI - F and PPP Senate Agreement

ISLAMABAD: JUI-F and PPP have consented to help each other's competitors in the impending Senate by-decisions on Walk 14 after a gathering between the gatherings' chiefs on Tuesday.

The previous has shown some adaptability in its unbending position of not participating in the parliamentary cycle as it declared help for PPP's contender for the upper house from Islamabad.

The PPP would give back by sup­­porting JUI-F's applicants from Balochistan.

The understanding was reached after a JUI-F designation, drove by Secretary Gene­ral Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, visited PPP's Secretariat and met with previous state leader Yousuf Raza Gillani, PPP Secretary General Nayyar Hussain Bu­khari and MNA Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani.

The by-races on six empty Senate seats will be held tomorrow (Thursday). The seats, one in the government capital, two in Sindh and three in Balochistan, were left surrendered by representatives following their political decision as individuals from the Public, Sindh and Balochistan congregations.

Mr Gillani said the PPP held a couple of gatherings with the JUI-F boss, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and invited the party's designation to "cooperate in parliament".

The PPP secretary general said the gathering was hung on the mandates of the party executive, Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, and President Asif Ali Zardari.

The JUI-F looked for PPP's help on three seats from Balochistan, and the party has assented to it, Mr Bukhari added.

One of the seats was cleared by Mr Gillani, who turned into a MNA subsequent to winning the political decision from Multan on February 8. Notwithstanding, he had presented the designation papers to challenge the political race from Islamabad.

ECP's answer to JUI-F

Independently, the Political decision Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has answered a letter sent by the JUI-F emir to the central political decision magistrate over the notice of Sadaf Ehsan as JUI-F's MNA on a saved seat.

Mr Rehman had scrutinized the move and named it "either a badly expected move or absence of capability" on ECP's part, as there was no lady named Sadaf Ehsan on JUI-F's rundown of held seats' applicants.

In its answer, the ECP said that Sadaf Yasmeen's name was remembered for the rundown presented by JUI-F to the returning offi­cer (RO), and the party likewise guaranteed that she, not Sadaf Ehsan, is their competitor.

In any case, no competitor of such name had submitted designation papers, the ECP said, adding that a lady named Sadaf Ehsan, an occupant of Lakki Marwat, presented her selection papers.
